How to Create Appointment & Event Types

Purpose - The purpose of creating Appointment & Event Types is to establish clear categories that organize your scheduling system. 

Prerequisite

  • Location Hours must be created first before entering Appointment Type

Steps to Create Appointment & Event Types 

  1. From the main menu, click Settings.
  2. In the Settings list, select Appointment Types (clipboard + icon)
  3. Click + Add Appointment Type button
  4. Appointment or Event?  

If Appointment is selected complete the following steps:

  • Create an Appointment Name 
  • Duration in minutes  (For example, 30min., 60min, 180min.)
  • Buffer Before - in minutes  (For example, 10min) will prevent an appointment to be entered during that timeframe 
  • Buffer After - in minutes  (For example, 10min) will prevent an appointment to be entered during that timeframe 
  • Appointment Category - select from the dropdown list that aligns with the appointment type 
  • Color - select from the dropdown a color and it will appear on the calendar 
  • Location - select from the dropdown menu a location 
    • ⚠️If the location is not appearing, proceed the Location Hours process steps
  • Providers select the provider(s) that are connected with this appointment type
  • Click the Add button at the top right to save the Appointment Type

If Event is selected complete the following steps:

  • Enter an Event Name 
  • Duration in min.  (For example 60 min.)
  • Buffer Before - in minutes  (For example, 10min) will prevent an appointment to be entered during that timeframe 
  • Buffer After - in minutes  (For example, 10min) will prevent an appointment to be entered during that timeframe 
  • Event Category - select from the dropdown list that aligns with the event type 
  • Color - select from the dropdown a color and it will appear on the calendar 
  • Location - select from the dropdown menu a location 
    • If the location is not appearing, proceed the Location Hours process steps
  • Max Attendees - enter a number of attendees that can attend the event
  • Providers select the provider(s) that are connected with this appointment type
  • Click the Add button at the top right to save the Appointment Type
